Many of us don’t give instant messaging or video calls much thought. Given the abundance of options, sending an instant message or making a video call doesn’t seem like a big deal. Among the few messaging apps available back then, Skype was one of the first to enable you to send a message with the click of a button or make a call over the internet to someone halfway around the world.
