Twitter is one of the social media platforms utilized today by many throughout the world. With this app, you can connect with your contacts. You may send and receive updates in various ways: (1) You can communicate by posting a tweet for the public or followers only to comment on, or (2) Send a private Direct message to a specific contact or group. Here is a guide on how to send a DM on Twitter using your Android smartphone:

1Open your Twitter app.
2Tap on the envelope icon. It will direct you to your messages.
3To create a new message, tap on the icon that appears as an envelope with a plus sign.
4Enter the name(s) or @username(s) of the people you wish to send a message to in the address box. You can also send a message to a group of up to 50 contacts.
5Enter your message in the textbox. Aside from text, you can include a photo, video, or GIF via Direct Message.
 
To send a media file, tap on the photo icon. You will have the option to take a photo or record a video, or attach one from your device gallery. Additional options include editing the image(s). 
To include an animated GIF in your message, tap on the GIF icon. It will allow you to search for and to select a file from the media library.
6.Tap on the arrowhead icon to send the message.
