Step #Action
1Before anything else, you first need to join a Zoom call so that you have something to record.
So, either open your Zoom app and start a call or join an ongoing Zoom meeting.
2Once you’re on the call, there are two ways that you can start recording the meeting.
The first way entails you look for the “meatball” menu–the menu with the three dots aligned in a horizontal fashion (as shown below)–and click on it.
3After clicking on the meatball menu, a list will pop up. Look for the one that says, “Record on this computer.”
4Once you click on “Record on this computer,” your Zoom application will begin recording the meeting/call.
5Aside from opening the meatball menu at the meeting, sometimes you can also find a “Record” button on the window of the meeting. (An example of this can be seen below)
Click on this button.
6Upon clicking on the Record button, your Zoom application will also begin recording your meeting/call.
7As soon as you press record, you will hear a voice prompt saying, “Recording in progress.” This will tell you that you have started recording.
8As shown below, you will also have an indicator on the screen showing you that you are currently recording.
9To stop recording, simply look for the “Stop” button and click on it. (The button on the right shown below)
You can also pause your recording and resume it whenever you want by clicking on the “Pause” button. (The button on the left shown above)
10As soon as your Zoom call ends, the application will process the recording and open the folder where you can find its file.
You may open it to view the recording.
11Congratulations! You now know how to record a Zoom meeting from your desktop computer!
