| Much like on an Android phone, you can turn on your mobile data in two ways: through your tablet’s settings or the dropdown menu (also known as the app drawer). If you want to turn your mobile data on through the settings route, look for the Settings app and tap on it. All Settings apps in Android tablets have a gear for their icon, such as what you can see in the image below: |
| When you open your tablet’s settings, look for the option that says “Connections,” “Mobile Network,” “Sim Cards and Mobile Network,” or something similar. You can find an example of what you might see below: |
| Your tablet will then take you to a window like the one pictured below. Look for the option that says “Data Usage” and tap on it. |
| You’ll find yourself at a screen that may look something like this: To turn your mobile data on, scroll down or look for the option that says “Mobile Data” and tap on the slider next to it. (An example of this can be seen below) |
| Aside from turning your mobile data on, you can also choose how your tablet utilizes the mobile data and what kind of connection you use. To do this, simply look for the option that says “Mobile Networks” and tap on it. (Below is an image of what the option may look like) |
| Under the “Mobile Networks” option, you can choose what mobile data connection you want (e.g., 2G, 3G, LTE, 5G). Simply select the “Network Mode” option (or similar options on other tablets), and pick the connection that you want from the dropdown menu. |
| Android tablets also allow you to consume less mobile data whenever you use them. To do this, go to the “Data Usage” tab. |
| When you get to the “Data Usage” screen, you’ll find an option that says “Data Saver.” (An example of this can be found below.) Tap on this option, and a dropdown menu will appear, asking you if you want to turn it on. Select the “On” option if you want to activate the Data Saver mode. |
| Another way you can turn your mobile data on would be through your Quick Settings menu (the dropdown menu on your Android tablet. To open this, simply swipe down from the top of your tablet’s screen. |
| Look for the button labeled “Mobile Data” or a button similar to the one pictured below. This will turn your mobile data connection on. |
| To turn off your mobile data, all you need to do is switch off the mobile data slider from the settings menu or tap on the button from your Quick Settings menu. |
| Congratulations! You know how to connect to the internet using the mobile data connection from your Android tablet! |
